Web Resources Worth Reading
Monday, July 11, 2011 at 4:43PM I subscribe to 133 blogs, ranging in topics from textiles and fashion, to personal development, to design resources, to good old eye candy. A chunk of them have consistently stayed in my Google Reader for years, but lately I’ve been coming across content that is on a whole new level and I’ve been devouring it. So I thought I’d share the wealth with all of you fascinating creatures. Whoever you are :)

INSPIRATION for life & business
Daniell LaPorte is rocking my world. Her freebies are excellent, her ‘manifesto of encouragement’ is beautiful, and I love that she manages to be quick and to the point while simultaneously leaving you feeling mentally and spiritually nourished. My suggestion is to start here.
I have never seen someone so flawlessly merge fashion, fun and fabulousness with the serious truths about life and loving oneself. Beeeyond inspiring. Go there NOW!
Go ahead and see if you can’t find a subject he hasn’t covered. You can’t. But you can get lost for hours in his wisdom.
Frankly, if I had to suggest only ONE blog for every human being to subscribe to, this would be it. Genius upon genius from Behance.
Alexandra Franzen is rad. Her website is full of valuable resources and her blog is both inspiring and unexpected. Refreshing. I think she single handedly helped me see how imperative it is to not only be myself but do things my way. Priceless.
ART//DESIGN//EYE-CANDY
I love this whole concept because who among us doesn’t ever get jealous of the creative genius out there? I definitely do…and there’s something nice about admitting that.
Jennifer Causey recently started a new project; interviewing creatives who live and work in Brooklyn and photographing their spaces. Brilliant. Inspiring. Makes me want to live in Brooklyn, and I just might :)
One word: Perfection.
I’m kind of obsessed with textiles and patterns and this site/blog never disappoints.
Very cool.
Yummy design :)
DESIGN & HOW-TO’s
…Over the years I’ve had a lot of friends ask how to do various things in Photoshop or Blogger and the like. I finally have a good answer other than, “Google it.”
If you’re looking for easy to follow how-to’s for web development, photoshop, CSS, etc. this has it all. I have been searching for these kind of tutorials for a while and here they are.
Awesome web design tutorials for, especially for bloggers. Katrina breaks things down into digestable pieces and suddenly things aren’t so daunting. Being self-taught, I have referenced her site on numerous occasions.
FASHION
I’ve started subscribing to a lot of fashion blogs and with that come many many outfit posts. Though I envy all of the wardrobes this has exposed me to, they can easily become dull and unrelatable. Except this lovely lady. Kieko manages to fascinate me, inspire me and adore her all at the same time. And she is be-au-t-i-ful. Omg.
Some real life fashionography for the rest of us.
Well kids, I sincerely hope you check out some, if not all of these brilliant people. You will be glad you did. And hey, if you’re not already using something to keep track of RSS feeds, do it! I love Google Reader because in one click I can go from my email to my blog reading, but there are many others. Just Google it ;)
And if you haven’t already, subscribe to this humble little blog by clicking on the “subscribe” button, or click here! And if you have any favorites please leave me a comment with the links so I can check them out!
