Hello, Lovers

I feel like that line reaches new heights right now.  No pun intended.

So I have a confession.  I’ve never liked heels.  And I honestly never thought I would.  Sure they’re cute, but being taller doesn’t necessarily interest me, more often than not they’re too hard to walk in, and in general I just never felt like it was worth all the hassle.  But I recently discovered that I just need the right heels (duh) and then it’s so very worth it.

Everything is right about these beauties.  Some I’d even consider giving up an arm for…

An ode to luxury, comfort and fabulous shoes

Now that summer is officially here it’s time to share some fashion magic.  It’s becoming more and more apparent that my once strong interest in fashion has finally returned.  I’m talking circa 1997 when I was obsessed with The Beatles and my bedroom wall was plastered with Kate Moss, Shalom Harlow, Amber Valetta, Gucci, Armani + Miu Miu and Jil Sander ads I didn’t quite understand.

It looked a lot like this:

Fast forward and lately there are entire days when all I think about is chiffon maxi skirts and Jeffrey Campbell platforms.

So as an ode to some of my favorite wearables, here is my over-the-top-, if-only-I-could-afford-it-all, ‘Perfect Summer Wardrobe’ with my own casual spin on it.  Because no matter how fancy the heels, v-necks will always be a must in my book.

Feel free to buy any of these items for my upcoming birthday :)

Are there any particular items you’d love to spend all summer in?

The 90s called. . .

I watched Singles and Reality Bites this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed every second of both.
Enough that I geeked out and bought the entire Reality Bites soundtrack for one song :-/

That being said, the Song of the Week is brought to you by:
Amazon MP3
and
The Nineties.

When You Come Back to Me

Amidst being so perplexed by Ben Stiller’s ears and wondering if Ethan Hawk ever washed his hair,
I got to thinking…”if I were to channel my inner Janet Livermore, what might I wear?”

Answer:

Brought to you by the 90s

Now I just need a Cliff Poncier equivalent to rock my world.

Happy Tuesday!  Go out and be the Super You!

P.S. I do recognize the irony in the song selection coming from the non-Cameron Crowe film.
Especially when you consider what a Seattle/Pearl Jam/Soundgarden fan I can be.  It happens.

It's written in the stars

It is 2:30 AM and I should be sleeping.

But there is too much to do!  I feel like I’m eight years old again when sleeping sounded super boring.

So for now,

I might have to have this dress.  Isn’t it a law of fashion that anytime an article of clothing makes you go, “Gah! What? Ohmygosh,” you’re supposed to buy it?  If not, it should be.

And…

This here, is the song of the week!: Black Sheep.  It inspires me and makes me sad all at once.

Feel free to enjoy the slick pop-out player in place of those clunky YouTube videos.  Sooner or later, every song of the week will be loaded into that little buddy.

In the meantime,

Peace

Dream Job

It's no mystery that I have at least a dozen different dream jobs.

This is definitely one of them:

Can't get enough of: royal blue

The other day I bought an epic dress from Thrush Vintage.

And an obession with royal blue ensued. . .

ONE | TWO | THREE | FOUR | FIVE | SIX

SEVEN | EIGHT | NINE | TEN | ELEVEN | TWELVE

I'm on a quest to work more vintage into the wardrobe so I feel like this is a good advancement.

I'm also making a concerted effort to stop dressing like I did at 17.  Here's to the first (publicly documented) attempt!

Dress: vintage
Boots: thrifted
Belt: Urban Outfitters
Bracelets: birthday gift
